Daryl Macon scored 23 points, including the decisive free throws with 22 seconds to play, as the Arkansas Razorbacks outlasted Texas 77-74 on Saturday at the Toyota Center in the second game of the Lone Star Shootout.

No. 19 Arizona outlasted Texas A&M 67-63 in the first game of the neutral court showcase.

Arkansas was up just 65-62 with 3:31 to play before back-to-back 3-point plays from guard Jaylen Barford and forward Moses Kingsley allowed the Razorbacks a 71-62 advantage.

Texas cut into the lead as swingman Tevin Mack scored six straight points and two free throws by guard Andrew Jones brought the Longhorns to within 73-70. After a Longhorn stop, Jones hit one of two free throws with 41.7 seconds to play as Texas crept closer.

A pair of free throws by the Razorbacks' forward Arlando Cook extended Arkansas' lead to 75-71 and, after a miss by Texas guard Kerwin Roach, Jr., Macon canned two more free throws to create a six-point cushion.

After a 3-pointer by Mack and an Arkansas turnover, Texas had a chance to tie but Roach's wild 3-pointer at the buzzer didn’t even reach the rim.

Arkansas (9-1) also got 15 points from reserve guard Dusty Hannahs and 11 from Barford. The Razorbacks' bench outscored Texas’ reserves, 30-4.

All five of Texas starters scored in double figures, led by Mack's 20 points. Guard Andrew Jones added 17 points, Roach had 12, forward Jarrett Allen hit for 11 points and forward Shaquille Cleare had 10 for the Longhorns (5-5).

Texas led throughout the first half, and by as many as seven points, before three free throws by Macon, who was fouled on a 3-point attempt, pushed Arkansas to a 30-28 lead with 3:13 to play.

The Longhorns responded with 7-0 run to end the half, scoring on a putback dunk by Allen, two free throws by Cleare, a free throw by Jones and another dunk by Allen to take a 35-30 lead into intermission.

Mack and Jones led the Longhorns with eight points in the first half while Macon's 11 points paced the Razorbacks. Texas outshot Arkansas 40.6-26.5 percent in the first 20 minutes as the Razorbacks were just 1 of 9 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Arkansas stayed within shouting distance because it owned an 11-2 advantage in bench scoring in the first half.

Texas led 42-39 after a jumper by Allen with 16:05 to play. The Razorbacks used a 15-3 run over a four and a half-minute stretch of early in the second half to run past Texas and assume a 54-45 lead. The Longhorns were 0-for-8 from the floor in that swoon.

Texas answered with a 13-7 run of their own to get back in the game, setting the stage for the terse end game. A 3-point play by Jones with 4:41 to play tied the game at 61.
