Tennessee scored 23 unanswered points during a second-half run, led wire-to-wire and had its best defensive showing of the season in a 90-50 win over Presbyterian on Tuesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn.

Lamonte Turner came off the bench to lead the Volunteers with 24 points. Jordan Bowen got hot in the second half and contributed 21 points while Robert Hubbs III added 14 points.

Will Adams led the Blue Hose (3-5) with 10 points and Darius Moore and Ruben Arroyo came off the bench to score nine points each.

Tennessee (4-3) has won three straight since dropping back-to-back games against ranked foes Wisconsin and Oregon. The Vols also made a season-high 16 3-pointers against Presbyterian.

The Blue Hose were coming off a 44-point win against Johnson & Wales on Thursday. But Tennessee is no Johnson & Wales.

The Volunteers held Presbyterian scoreless for nearly the first three minutes and led comfortably throughout the first half with their largest lead being 14 at 33-19.

Tennessee opened the second half on a 6-0 run but the Blue Hose closed to within 50-41 when Moore hit a 3-pointer at the 12:25 mark.

But then Bowen heated up and scored 11 straight points as part of the 23-0 Tennessee run that put the game away. Adams finally stopped the bleeding with a free throw for the Blue Hose at the 5:41 mark to make the score 73-42.

Despite trailing by 12 at halftime (40-28), the Blue Hose shot 45.4 percent from the field (10-for-22) and made 4 of 9 from long range in the first half. They sunk all four free throws they attempted.

Tennessee's field-goal percentage was only 39.4, and the Vols made good on 13 of 34 attempts. Tennessee did connect on 7 of 17 shots from beyond the arc and turned the ball over just twice compared to nine times for the Blue Hose.

Hubbs, who came into the game as the Volunteers' leading scorer at 13.8 points per game, was held to only two first-half points. Turner came off the bench to pave the way in the first half for Tennessee with 12 points.

Reggie Dillard led the Blue Hose with five points in the first half.

Up next for the Volunteers is a date with No. 7 North Carolina on Sunday at Chapel Hill, N.C. The Blue Hose travel to play South Carolina Upstate on Dec. 13.
