Guards Eric Robertson and Greg Pryor each hit critical 3-pointers in overtime Friday night as Southern Conference favorite Chattanooga opened the season with a 92-90 decision over Georgia at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.

Robertson and Pryor's 3s fueled a 10-3 run to start the extra session that gave the Mocs an 84-77 lead. The Bulldogs pulled within two points on a 3-pointer by guard J.J. Frazier with 11 seconds left, but freshman guard William Jackson missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.

Guards Jonathan Burroughs-Cook and Casey Jones each scored 23 points for Chattanooga, while Pryor finished with 18. Frazier paced Georgia with 22 points, while forward Yante Maten and guard Charles Mann each tallied 17.

College basketball's crackdown on physical play was enforced in this one. The teams were whistled for 63 fouls and combined to take 76 free throws. Five players fouled out and five others finished with four fouls.

Georgia forced overtime when guard Charles Mann sank a foul shot with 12 seconds left to tie the game at 74. Burroughs-Cook missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the end of regulation for Chattanooga.

Chattanooga controlled the first half, establishing a 13-3 lead less than six minutes into the game and upping the cushion to 11 points on three occasions before settling for a 39-31 halftime advantage.
