No. 6 Arizona 80, Oregon 52: Brandon Ashley scored 20 points and Stanley Johnson added 14 as the top-seeded Wildcats routed the Ducks at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to claim their first Pac-12 tournament championship since 2002.

T.J. McConnell had 12 points, Kaleb Tarczewski added nine and Gabe York chipped in eight points for Arizona (31-3), which shot 54.5 percent and became the first team in seven years to capture both Pac-12 regular-season and tournament titles. The Wildcats won the three meetings against Oregon this season by an average of 26.7 points.

Joseph Young recorded 19 points and four assists while Dillon Brooks scored 13 points for No. 2 seed Oregon (25-9). Young, the conference player of the year, was held to seven points on 2-of-10 shooting in the first half before making five of his nine shots after the break.

Arizona had runs of 14-0 and 10-0 in the opening period and held a 36-21 advantage at the half after outrebounding the Ducks 25-13. Oregon, which averaged 76 points during the regular season, made nine of its first 11 shots in the second half after shooting 28 percent in the opening stanza but never came closer than 12 points in the final 20 minutes.

Ashley scored a total of 59 points in three tournament wins and threw down a dunk to extend Arizona’s lead to 57-42 with just over 11 minutes left. Arizona, which snapped a three-game losing streak in Pac-12 title games under coach Sean Miller, brought the largely pro-Wildcats crowd to its feet when McConnell capped a 15-0 run with a 3-pointer as the lead ballooned to 78-47 with 3:06 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tarczewski and Oregon F Elgin Cook (eight points) were called for a double technical foul with just over six minutes left and Arizona leading 67-47. … Young scored 74 points in three tournament games and fell nine shy of Reggie Miller’s tournament record. … Rondae Hollis-Jefferson grabbed nine rebounds for Arizona, which won the battle of the boards 37-20.
