Stanley Johnson had 19 points and seven rebounds as the top-seeded Wildcats advanced to the Pac-12 semifinals in Las Vegas.

Brandon Ashley added 15 points and seven rebounds and T.J. McConnell contributed 13 points, six assists and three steals for sixth-ranked Arizona (29-3), which plays fourth-seeded UCLA in Friday’s semifinals. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson finished with 10 points and Gabe York scored eight off the bench as the Wildcats extended their winning streak to nine games.

Tyrone Wallace had 19 points and five assists and Jabari Bird scored 10 for eighth-seeded California (18-15), but nobody else scored in double figures. David Kravish, coming off a career-high 25 points in the first-round win against Washington State, finished with six points and 12 rebounds.

Ashley’s three-point play with 1:18 left in the first half gave Arizona a 33-27 lead - the biggest for either team through that point of the game - and that score held up until the half. Johnson sank a 3-pointer and Hollis-Jefferson scored off a Kravish turnover to stretch the advantage to 42-32 with 17:23 left and the Golden Bears were forced to call timeout.

California wasn’t able to re-establish momentum as its scoreless drought continued for nearly five minutes and the Wildcats were able to extend the advantage to 14 in that span. The Golden Bears trimmed the deficit back to 10 on three occasions but couldn’t get back within single digits as the lead swelled to 19 with 2:17 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats, who came in third in the nation with a plus-8.7 rebound margin, were outrebounded 37-36. … The Wildcats, who came in second in the nation in free throws (564) and third in attempts (810), shot 15-for-17 from the line. … Arizona’s bench outscored California’s 12-11 and improved to 23-0 this season when its bench outscores the opposition.
