Florida State 75, USF 62: Devon Bookert scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Seminoles past the Bulls in the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, Fla.

Jarquez Smith added 14 points and a recorded a career best six blocks for Florida State (6-5), which tied a school record by blocking 15 shots. Kiel Turpin contributed 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting for the Seminoles.

Corey Allen Jr. had a career-high 31 points to lead the offense for USF (5-6), which lost its fifth straight game. Allen also recorded four steals and Anthony Collins added 13 points and three steals for the Bulls, who shot 36.4 percent.

Florida State used a 14-4 stretch that included seven points from Bookert to open up a 23-12 advantage with 5:45 to play in the first half. The Bulls cut into the lead in the final 2:15 of the opening frame, hitting the locker room on an 8-4 spurt to trim the deficit to 34-28.

After the break, the Seminoles got six straight points to push their lead to 40-30 in the opening minutes before USF scored eight unanswered as part of a 12-4 run to pull to within 44-42 with just over 13 minutes remaining. Florida State responded with 21 of the next 30 points, including seven from Bookert, to move ahead 65-51 and eliminate any further threat from the Bulls down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bookert shot 8-of-8 from the free throw line and improved to 12-of-12 on the season.. ... USF F Chris Perry, who averages 13.3 points, had a rough day, finishing with three points on 1-of-13 shooting. ... Florida State G Montay Brandon totaled five points on 2-of-5 shooting after leading the Seminoles in scoring the previous three games.
