No. 9 Arizona 69, No. 8 Utah 51: Stanley Johnson scored all 18 of his points after halftime and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Wildcats ran away from the visiting Utes in the final 20 minutes.

T.J. McConnell added 16 points on 8-for-10 shooting and distributed six assists for Arizona (16-2, 4-1 Pac-12), which owned a 41-20 rebounding edge. Brandon Ashley finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats, who have won 32 straight on their home floor.

Brandon Taylor scored 12 points and Jordan Loveridge finished with 11, all in the second half, for Utah (14-3, 4-1), which had its seven-game winning streak snapped. Delon Wright added 10 points and Brekkott Chapman led all reserves with seven points.

The Wildcats fell behind 10-2 at the start but eventually wrestled the lead away from the Utes on Ashley’s jumper with six minutes left in the first half. Arizona then closed with a 9-2 run to take a 31-26 lead into the break and the Wildcats never trailed again.

The Utes got as close as three on a 3-pointer by Taylor with 18:09 remaining, but less than a minute later Johnson scored his first points of the game on a 3-pointer to kickstart an 11-0 run and Arizona’s lead swelled to 46-32 with 14:18 showing on the clock. Chapman ended the run with a 3-pointer, but Utah wasn’t able to get back within single digits as the Wildcats followed with a 10-3 run to go up by 18 just past the midway point of the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This was the first Pac-12 matchup between top 10 teams in nearly seven years. … Arizona G Gabe York, the team’s top 3-point shooter, missed the previous game against Colorado with an ankle sprain but returned and went scoreless in a reserve role. … The Utes, who came in sixth in the nation in field goal percentage at 50.3, shot 38.1 percent from the floor.
