UCLA 83, USC 66: Norman Powell scored 22 points and Bryce Alford added 21 as the Bruins rolled past the host Trojans.

Tony Parker had 14 points and seven rebounds as UCLA (11-7, 3-2) shot 56.5 percent from the field while winning its third straight game. Kevon Looney added 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Bruins beat USC for the eighth time in the last nine meetings.

Nikola Jovanovic scored 20 points for USC (9-8, 1-4), which was outrebounded 41-20. Darion Clark added 11 points and Katin Reinhardt and Malik Marquetti scored 10 apiece.

The Trojans recovered from an 18-point second-half deficit to pull within 61-52 on Jordan McLaughlin’s steal and layup with 7:59 remaining. The Bruins regained control with a 12-3 surge and the lead topped out at 23 on Powell’s three-point play with 1:01 left.

UCLA used a 10-0 run to open up an eight-point lead in the first half and later scored the final eight points for a 36-31 lead at the break. The Bruins continued to dominate with a 15-2 run to start the second half with Alford’s layup giving UCLA a 51-33 lead with 15:06 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Alford was 5-of-8 from 3-point range and Marquetti made all three of his long-range attempts. … McLaughlin had eight points, six assists and three steals. … The double-double was Looney’s ninth of the season.
