No. 12 Utah 85, Carroll College 49: Jordan Loveridge scored 14 points in his return from a knee injury as the host Utes routed the NAIA-level Saints.
Brekkott Chapman had 11 points and six rebounds for Utah (10-2). Chris Reyes scored 10 points and Delon Wright contributed nine, seven assists and three steals.
Oliver Carr scored 10 points to lead Carroll College, which committed 17 turnovers and was outrebounded 38-15. The contest was an exhibition for the Saints and does not count against their record.
The Utes opened the game with 12 consecutive points against the visitors from Montana and had a 28-6 advantage after a 3-pointer by Kenneth Ogbe just past the midway point of the half. Utah used a 13-0 burst to stretch the lead to 32 and took a 54-23 lead into the break.
Two free throws by Jakob Poeltl pushed it to 61-25 early in the second half. Twelve different players scored as Utah completed the easy victory.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah shot 64.7 percent from the field and went 8-for-16 from 3-point range. … Carroll College had 12 steals, led by three from G Zach Taylor. … Loveridge missed seven games due to his ailment and was 5-of-6 shooting in his return.
