Wesley Iwundu and Marcus Foster had 10 points apiece for Kansas State (7-4), which recorded its third straight win while shooting 61.5 percent. Justin Edwards and Jevon Thomas each tallied eight points to help the Wildcats improve to 5-1 over their last six games against their former Big 12 rival.

Kourtney Roberson matched a season high with 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting for Texas A&M (7-3) while Danuel House registered 13 points and Jordan Green chipped 11. Jalen Jones, who came in leading the Aggies in scoring (13.4) and rebounds (6.1), was held to six points on 3-of-10 shooting along with three boards.

Kansas State went 14-of-17 from the floor in the opening 20 minutes and led 39-32 at the half. Foster drained a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 48-36 with 14:37 left and Kansas State held a 14-point advantage after Williams scored with 9:59 remaining.

The Aggies missed 10 of their first 13 shots in the second half but made a late run and pulled within 65-61 on Alex Caruso’s basket with 1:15 left. Kansas State missed three of its next four free-throw attempts before Gipson converted two foul shots with 22 seconds left to seal the victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas State recorded its third-highest shooting percentage for a half in school history and best since 1994 after shooting 82.4 percent in the opening period. … Texas A&M F Antwan Space scored nine points but received a technical foul with 7:40 remaining and the Wildcats leading 56-46. … The contest counted as a home game for Kansas State, which improved to 107-76 all-time in Kansas City.
