No. 2 Duke 75, Elon 62: Jahlil Okafor recorded a career-high 25 points and a school freshman record 20 rebounds on his 19th birthday as the Blue Devils extended their home winning streak to a nation-best 38.
Okafor became the first Duke player since Elton Brand in 1999 to record 20 points and 20 rebounds (21 and 21) as the Blue Devils (9-0) won their 27th straight game in December despite committing a season-high 17 turnovers in their first game since Dec. 3. Duke's Amile Jefferson contributed 13 points and five rebounds.
Freshman Justise Winslow scored 12 for the Blue Devils, who were 3-of-16 from 3-point range but shot 65 percent inside the arc. Luke Eddy scored 16 points for the Phoenix (5-5), who fell to 1-26 against ACC foes since joining the Division I ranks in 1997.
Duke raced to a 15-2 lead and moved in front 30-17 after Winslow dunked an alley-oop pass from Tyus Jones before Eddy responded with back-to-back runners. The Blue Devils, though, scored the final six points of the first half while Okafor recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds and two of his three blocks prior to the break.
Duke extended its lead to 43-23 just over three minutes into the second half before Elon erupted for a 10-1 run - highlighted by Tanner Samson's four-point play and back-to-back 3-pointers by Austin Hamilton and Collin Luther. The Blue Devils quickly re-established a 20-point bulge as Winslow capped an 11-2 run with five consecutive points and Elon wasn't able to get any closer than 12 the rest of the way.
