Pittsburgh 58, St. Bonaventure 54: Michael Young recorded 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as the Panthers held off the Bonnies for their 26th consecutive home victory over a non-conference opponent.

Jamel Artis contributed 14 points and four blocks while Chris Jones scored 11 points for Pittsburgh (6-3), which won for the third time in four games. James Robinson had nine points and four assists and Josh Newkirk scored nine as the Panthers closed the game on a 14-7 run.

Marcus Posley led the way with 17 points while Dion Wright registered 10 points and 10 rebounds for St. Bonaventure (6-2), which saw its five-game win streak end. Youssou Ndoye grabbed 11 rebounds and freshman Jaylen Adams scored nine for the Bonnies but made only 2-of-3 free throws with 5.9 seconds left with a chance to tie.

St. Bonaventure erased an early six-point deficit, drained four 3-pointers and limited Pittsburgh to 29.6 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes to edge in front 25-24 at intermission. The Panthers answered with 13 of the first 17 points – five from Robinson -- in the second half for a 37-29 lead.

Pittsburgh stretched its lead to 11 before the Bonnies ran off 16 of the next 18 points, highlighted by a fast-break dunk from Wright, for a 47-44 edge. Newkirk drained a 3-pointer from the corner to tie it, Young followed with a dunk and Artis made a jumper for a 51-48 lead and the Panthers led the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pittsburgh senior G Cameron Wright got the start in his second game of the season after returning from a broken foot and scored one point to go along with three rebounds. … St. Bonaventure has not beaten an ACC team which was a member of the conference at the time since Duke in 1971. … The Panthers are 113-3 against non-conference opponents in their home arena – Petersen Events Center.
