North Carolina State 60, Boise State 54: Trevor Lacey and Ralston Turner scored 14 points apiece as host North Carolina State remained unbeaten by downing Boise State.
Anthony “Cat” Barber added 10 points for the Wolfpack (6-0). Kyle Washington contributed eight points and six rebounds off the bench.
Reserve James Webb III scored 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting for the Broncos (4-2). Anthony Drmic added 10 points but struggled through a 3-for-12 shooting night.
Boise State trailed by 15 early in the second half but rallied to within 52-50 on a 3-pointer by Webb with 4:42 to go and later moved within one on Mikey Thompson’s basket with 1:29 left. Lacey scored on a layup with 1:05 left and drained a jumper with 25.2 seconds to play as the Wolfpack prevailed.
Turner scored 10 points – including three 3-pointers – during a 12-0 run that saw N.C. State take a 30-18 lead later in the first half. Lacey later hit a 3-pointer to boost the lead to 13 before the Wolfpack settled for a 33-23 lead at the break.
GAME NOTEBOOK: N.C. State is 6-0 for the first time since 2004-05. … Drmic had two 3-pointers to move into fifth place in school history with 223, passing Paul Noonan (211 from 2007-11)… The Wolfpack limited Boise State to 8-of-28 from behind the arc.
