Keeshawn Barthelemy scored 20 points, Jabari Walker had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Colorado beat New Mexico 87-76 in Boulder, Colo., on Saturday night.
Evan Battey scored 16 points and Elijah Parquet added 10 points for the Buffaloes.
Jaelen House scored 22 points, Jamal Mashburn Jr. had 20, Taryn Todd finished with 12 and Javont Johnson added 10 for New Mexico.
Colorado led by six at halftime but the Lobos scored the first five points to get within 42-41. The Buffaloes stayed in the lead but couldn't pull away.
House made a layup to get New Mexico within 60-59 with 9:31 remaining but Colorado responded. Walker made a technical free throw, K.J. Simpson had a layup and after a turnover, Tristan da Silva's dunk made it 65-59 with 7:48 remaining.
After Mashburn made a layup, Walker converted a three-point play to stretch the lead to 68-61. Gethro Muscadin split a pair of free throws for the Lobos, Battey scored off an offensive rebound and Johnson sank a 3-pointer to get New Mexico with 70-65.
Barthelemy hit a jumper and two free throws to put the Buffaloes ahead 74-66 but New Mexico stuck around, getting within five on two free throws by Johnson with 2:40 left. After Parquet split two free throws, Masburn's three-point play made it 77-74 Colorado.
Battey's layup with 1:42 left began a 10-0 run to allow the Buffaloes to pull away.
The Lobos led for the first part of the first half before Colorado started to take control. A combined four free throws from Walker and Barthelemy, and a layup by da Silva the Buffaloes took a 21-17 lead.
They continued to build on it with 3-pointers from Barthelemy and Battey that made it 27-19 before New Mexico went on a 7-1 run to get within 28-26. The Lobos eventually tied it at 31 on a 3-pointer by House with 3:37 left but Colorado went back up by eight before heading into intermission leading 42-36.
