Cormac Ryan scored 28 points and Notre Dame rallied to defeat host Duke, delivering another blow to the Blue Devils' NCAA Tournament aspirations with a 93-89 decision Tuesday in Durham, N.C.

The Irish came out on top in a wild second-half stretch with lead changes on nearly every possession. Both teams unleashed numerous offensive weapons.

Prentiss Hubb's 15 points, Juwan Durham's 13, Dane Goodwin's 12 points and Nate Laszewski's 11 also were huge for Notre Dame, which had seven players with at least seven points. Ryan was 10-for-16 from the field with four 3-point buckets.

Wendell Moore Jr. poured in 24 points, Jeremy Roach had 16, Matthew Hurt tallied 13 and DJ Steward finished with 10 for the Blue Devils, who had two other players with eight points.

Duke (7-8, 5-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) has lost three games in a row, including two at home across a four-day period.

The Irish (8-10, 5-7) have won five of their last seven games, recovering from a two-point loss Saturday night at Georgia Tech when a large lead disappeared.

On Tuesday, Durham scored at the 3:30 mark and again with 2:06 left for the only points for either team during a stretch of more than three minutes. Those points gave the Irish an 87-83 lead.

Only Moore's basket broke up Duke's scoring drought -- and then Hubb drained a 3-pointer with 37 seconds to go. Goodwin made a pair of foul shots and Ryan sank one of two free-throw attempts to clinch the outcome.

The Irish shot 7-for-14 on second-half 3-point attempts.

Duke held a 50-45 halftime edge and the offensive free-for-all continued for the next 11 minutes. Notre Dame used a 15-4 run to grab a 66-64 lead.

In the next seven minutes, there were 10 lead changes and a tie. Then Duke pulled even at 83-83 on Roach's 3-pointer.

Hurt, the ACC's second-leading scorer, picked up his fourth foul with 8:50 remaining.

Duke broke out to a 20-8 lead, aided by 8-for-11 shooting from the field while hitting all four of its 3-point attempts. The margin grew to 15 points, but Ryan's 21 first-half points helped keep the Irish in it.

Notre Dame avenged a 10-point home loss from December in the ACC opener for both teams.
