Greg Williams scored a career-high 26 points as host St. John's pulled away in the second half and beat Georgetown 94-83 Sunday night in Jamaica, N.Y.

The Red Storm (6-4, 1-3 Big East) hosted Georgetown on campus for the first time since Jan. 7, 1981, when legends Chris Mullin and Patrick Ewing were high school seniors. St. John's rebounded nicely from an ugly 94-78 loss to No. 9 Creighton on Thursday and also beat Georgetown for the fourth time in 10 meetings.

Williams led five players in double figures and posted his third career 20-point game. He shot 7 of 12 from the floor, hit four 3-pointers and surpassed his previous career high of 21 set against Stony Brook on Dec. 6 and Creighton on March 1.

Julian Champagnie added 20 points and nine rebounds as St. John's added shot 48 percent and hit 13 3-pointers. Vince Cole contributed 17 while Isaih Moore and Posh Alexander chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Jahvon Blair scored 25 points for Georgetown (3-4, 1-2), which shot 44 percent a week after its wild overtime win over the Red Storm.

Donald Carey tied a season high with 19 points for the Hoyas while Qudus Wahab finished with 12 before fouling out.

Second-leading scorer Jamorko Pickett missed his first seven shots and was held to six points on 2-for-12 shooting before appearing to tweak his ankle with about three minutes remaining.

After falling behind by six points less than two minutes in, St. John's quickly recovered and took the lead for good when Champagnie's 3-pointer made it 15-12 with 15:07 remaining. The Red Storm took a 39-23 lead on another Champagnie 3-pointer with 5:07 left and held a 49-41 lead by halftime.

Georgetown was within 51-49 on a layup by Blair with 15:33 remaining but St. John's countered with an 18-5 run to open a 69-54 lead on a layup by Alexander with 10:07 remaining.

The Red Storm took a 78-58 lead on a layup by Williams with 7:24 remaining and iced the win on a jumper by Williams with 4:08 left that made it 84-69.
