The Bears (3-1) advance to play Coastal Carolina on Friday, with Ohio (3-2) falling to the consolation bracket for a contest against Utah.

After trailing by as many as 18 points in the second half, Ohio clawed back within 57-48 on a putback layup by Lunden McDay with 8:19 to play. Baylor then ran off the next 13 points to put away the Bobcats, who missed seven of their eight shots and committed three turnovers in that pivotal stretch.

Freddie Gillespie added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Baylor, which has trailed for only 3:39 of 160 minutes of game time this season, and never by more than three points. Those three points came in the Bears' only loss, a 67-64 defeat against Washington in a game played in Alaska.

McDay led the Bobcats with 16 points while Jason Preston added 12 for Ohio.

Jordan Dartis, the reigning Mid-American Conference player of the week and the Bobcats' leading scorer, had nine points for Ohio on 3-of-12 shooting from the floor.

The score was tied at 17 with 8:07 to play in the first half before the Bears took charge, forging an 18-3 run in the next seven minutes.

Baylor's defense was the difference in the first half, with the Bears holding Ohio to 29 percent shooting and just seven made field goals while earning a 36-23 lead at intermission.

Butler led Baylor with nine points at the break, with Clark adding eight. The Bears outrebounded Ohio 24-14 in the half. McDay led the Bobcats with seven points over the first 20 minutes.
