Arkansas landed the first punch, establishing a 10-2 lead when Joe drained a 3-pointer just 3:44 into the game. The Razorbacks still owned a 20-13 advantage with 8:58 remaining in the first half, courtesy of a 3-ball by Jones.

At that point, Ole Miss got things going on both ends of the floor. It went on a 9-1 burst, taking its first lead since the game's first minute when Shuler sank two foul shots to make it 22-21 with 6:01 left.

The Rebels shut down Arkansas over the final 3:25 of the half, not allowing a point. In that stretch, they scored the last seven points, including a Tyree dunk that capped his 12-point half and enabled them to go to the locker room with a 33-27 margin.
