No. 15 Maryland clamped down on visiting Indiana to claim a 75-59 Big Ten Conference win Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md.

Jalen Smith led four Terrapins in double figures with 19 points and eight rebounds.

The Hoosiers (11-3, 1-2) shot just 36.1 percent from the field and had 14 turnovers against Maryland's long, quick defense. The Terrapins (12-2, 2-1) compiled a commanding 25-9 edge in points off turnovers and outscored Indiana 34-22 in the paint.

Aaron Wiggins and Anthony Cowan each had 13 points and Darryl Morsell scored 12, with nine coming in the first half as the Terrapins took control before intermission.

Devonte Green scored 18 points to lead Indiana, which has lost two games in a row and three of its last six after an 8-0 start. Trayce Jackson-Davis, who came in averaging 15.4 points, was held to just seven.

The Hoosiers used an 11-3 run early in the second half to slice an 11-point Maryland advantage to 36-33 with 14:17 left, on Joey Brunk's layup.

The Terps ran off the next eight points to push the lead to 44-33 at 12:22 on two Cowan free throws. The Hoosiers would never get within eight points again, with Maryland leading by as many as 30 points late in a matchup of two 11-win teams.

Maryland led 28-20 at the half, holding the Hoosiers to an icy 27 percent (8-of-30) shooting, and getting nine points from Morsell and eight from Smith. Indiana led by as many as five points early on, the last time at 16-11.

The Terrapins got off to their now-customary slow start, hitting just three of their first 16 shots before Smith knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to pull Maryland within 16-14. Indiana saw the Terps rattle off 11 straight points and lead 22-16 on Morsell's reverse layup.

The Hoosiers made just one field goal in the final 9:29 of the first half.
