Wisconsin junior guard Brad Davison drained a game-winning 3-point bucket with 11 seconds left to give the Badgers a 56-54 upset win against No. 17 Maryland on Tuesday in Madison, Wis.

Davison stole the ball on a Maryland inbounds play with 12.4 seconds left, giving Wisconsin (11-6, 4-2 Big Ten) a chance for the victory.

Anthony Cowan Jr. and Eric Ayala both missed a 3-point attempt in the closing seconds as Maryland fell to 0-3 in Big Ten road games.

Junior forward Nate Reuvers scored a team-high 17 points for the Badgers, and Davison and Micah Potter added 14 points each.

Sophomore forward Jalen Smith scored a game-high 18 points for the Terrapins (13-4, 3-3), who outrebounded the Badgers 35-24.

Cowan delivered 16 points and Aaron Wiggins added 13 for Maryland, which has lost back-to-back games.

Potter and Reuvers combined for 18 first-half points to give Wisconsin a 30-25 lead at the halftime break.

The Terps gained control when Smith and Cowan drilled back-to-back 3-pointers, and Maryland took its first lead of the second half at 35-32 with 14:41 left.

But the Badgers stayed close, and Davison and sophomore guard Kobe King hit consecutive baskets to give Wisconsin a 51-50 lead with 2:44 left.

Davison, who entered the game with an 8.7 points-per-game average, scored nine second-half points.

Potter, in a reserve role, shot 6 of 7 from the field in 13 minutes for Wisconsin, which shot 44.9 percent overall in the victory.

Wisconsin has posted three wins over ranked Big Ten opponents in less than two weeks. Besides Maryland on Tuesday, the Badgers have collected victories against then-No. 20 Penn State and then-No. 5 Ohio State.
