Cassius Stanley scored 19 points and Tre Jones poured in 15 as fourth-ranked Duke drubbed visiting Colorado State 89-55 on Friday night at in Durham, N.C.

Stanley, a freshman making his home debut, joined another star-studded class of newcomers in delighting the home crowd.

Alex O'Connell tacked on 14 points and freshmen Vernon Carey Jr. and Wendell Moore Jr. provided 11 and 10 points, respectively. Jones scored 11 of his points in the first half and ended up with a game-high eight assists.

Isaiah Stevens and David Roddy led Colorado State with 12 points apiece. Nico Carvacho added 11 points for the Rams (1-1).

Duke (2-0) began the second half on a 10-2 run. The Rams committed seven turnovers in the first eight minutes of the second half as the margin ballooned to 65-35.

The Blue Devils finished only 4-for-22 on 3-point attempts, but they pushed the ball inside and converted in transition for a variety of high-percentage shots.

Colorado State was 5-for-21 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Rams were charged with 18 turnovers.

The Blue Devils followed Tuesday night's conquest of No. 3 Kansas by improving to 39-1 in home openers under coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Duke owns an NCAA-best streak of 148 home victories against nonconference opponents.

The Blue Devils kept three freshmen in the starting lineup, though O'Connell, a junior guard, replaced classmate Jordan Goldwire with the first-string unit compared to the lineup three nights earlier.

Duke took a double-digit lead for the first time at 29-19 less than 15 minutes into the game.

The Blue Devils scored the final 10 points of the half for a 42-26 edge at the break.

The Rams, who have four starters returning from last season, shot 8-for-26 from the field in the first half.

Duke has won each of the three all-time meetings with Colorado State.
