Stanford 74, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 39: Anthony Brown shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range and scored 16 points as the Cardinal routed the visiting Golden Lions.
Stefan Nastic added 13 points and Chasson Randle finished with 11 for Stanford (8-3), which opens Pac-12 play Friday against visiting Washington State. Rosco Allen made both his 3-point attempts and scored eight points to lead the Cardinal reserves.
Marcel Mosley was the only player in double figures for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, scoring 11 of his 25 points in the final four minutes. Tevin Hammond and David Tillman were the next highest scorers with four points apiece for the Golden Lions (3-11).
The Golden Lions went the first 8:10 without a field goal as the Cardinal burst out to a 19-1 lead. Nastic scored the first six points for Stanford and Randle and Brown made two 3-pointers each in the run.
Brown hit another 3 to extend the advantage to 34-6 with 6:01 still left in the first half and the Cardinal would lead by as much as 34 before taking a 45-14 lead into the break. Stanford ended up shooting 11-for-17 from 3-point distance and forcing 25 turnovers.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The last time Stanford held an opponent under 40 points was in November 2011 against Pacific (37). … Randle shot 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, giving him 240 for his career, one short of the school record owned by Dion Cross (1992-96). … The Cardinal had 22 assists on 25 field goals.
