TCU 60, Tennessee State 40: Kyan Anderson scored 16 points and Trey Zeigler added 10 as the Horned Frogs routed the visiting Tigers to remain one of six unbeaten teams in the nation.

Washburn collected eight points and a career-high 12 rebounds while
Kenrich Williams grabbed a career-high 13 boards for TCU (13-0), which
is off to its best start in school history. Amric Fields added seven
points and seven rebounds as the Horned Frogs closed their non-conference
schedule by handing the Tigers their 11th straight loss.
Jay
Harris led Tennessee State (2-12) with 10 points while Christian
Mekowulu registered eight points and seven rebounds. Marcus Roper, who
came in averaging 11.4 points, was held to two points as the Tigers shot
31.8 percent from the field, including 4-of-14 from 3-point range.
TCU
scored 14 unanswered points midway through the opening period and led
33-19 at the break after holding Tennessee State to one offensive
rebound. Anderson converted two free throws to extend the lead to 37-21
early in the second half before the Tigers responded with a 10-2 run to
cut the deficit to 37-31 with 12:31 remaining.
Darreon
Reddick’s three-point play pulled the Tigers within 39-34 before the
Horned Frogs closed the game on a 21-6 run. The Horned Frogs won despite
a poor shooting night by Anderson, who was 4-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-11 from beyond the arc.
GAME NOTEBOOK: TCU moved into
a tie with the 2001-02 Oklahoma State team for the 10th-best start in
Big 12 history. … The Horned Frogs, who begin Big 12 play on Jan. 3
against No. 15 West Virginia, improved to 28-4 when leading at the half under
coach Trent Johnson. … TCU won the battle of the boards 50-29 and has
outrebounded its opponent in 12 of its first 13 games.
