No. 21 Notre Dame 94, Purdue 63:
Pat Connaughton had 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Irish to an
easy victory over the in-state rival Boilermakers at the Crossroads
Classic in Indianapolis.
Demetrius Jackson had 22 points
for Notre Dame (11-1), which had six players score in double figures
and shot 51.6 percent from the field. Steve Vasturia and Austin
Torres each added 11 points, while Zach Auguste and Jerian Grant each
had 10 points.
Purdue (8-4) was paced by three
players with 11 points: Jon Octeus, Bryson Scott and A.J. Hammons.
Isaac Haas added 10 points, but the Boilermakers were hurt by 39.3
percent shooting, including 4-of-14 from 3-point range.
The Boilermakers played well
early, taking a 16-8 lead just under six minutes into the contest,
but the Irish responded with an 11-0 run to take back the lead.
Purdue was up by one with 6:34 to go in the half when Notre Dame got
hot, scoring 20 points the rest of the way to take a seven-point
advantage into the break.
The Boilermakers had pulled back
within two in the opening minutes of the second half when the Irish
went on a 28-7 run, with Jackson contributing seven points, to go up
by 23 with just over seven minutes to play. Notre Dame got the lead
up to as much as 32 as Purdue couldn't get anything going the rest of
the way.

Davis came into the game averaging 11.3 points over his last seven
games, but was held to four points on 2-of-4 shooting. … Notre Dame
had 18 assists on its 33 made field goals, with Grant dishing out
nine of them. … The Irish hit 8-of-17 from the 3-point arc.
