No. 24 Kentucky 55, Alabama 48: Julius Randle had 12 points and 11 rebounds as the host Wildcats defeated the Crimson Tide to halt a two-game losing streak.

Kentucky (22-8, 12-5 SEC) boasted a 41-27 rebounding advantage – including 15 offensive boards – to overcome a woeful 32.7 shooting percentage. The Wildcats were just 5-of-28 from 3-point range while posting a season low for points.

Trevor Releford scored 13 points for Alabama (12-18, 6-11), which has lost eight of its last 11 games. The Crimson Tide shot just 38 percent and were 3-of-13 from 3-point range while scoring under 50 for the third time this season.

Alabama used an 11-3 burst to pull within 48-47 with 5:11 to play before Dakari Johnson scored on the inside and James Young drained a 3-pointer to make it a six-point margin. Randle hit two free throws to cap the 7-0 run and the Crimson Tide managed just one free throw the rest of the way.

Kentucky shot just 24 percent from the field in the first half and trailed 28-25 at the break. Alabama led by five points early in the second half before the Wildcats went on an 18-4 surge to take a 43-34 advantage with under 13 minutes to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The double-double was Randle’s 17th of the season. … Alabama has lost all 11 road games and is 0-14 away from home this season. … Young scored nine points but was just 1-of-11 from the field.
