American 46: Jamal Jones scored 16 points as the Aggies held on for a
nonconference home win over the Broncs.
Alex Caruso added 13 points, six
assists, four steals and three blocks for Texas A&M (9-4), which
broke a two-game losing streak. Fabyon Harris added 10 points for the
Aggies.
Justin Leathers led Texas-Pan
American (4-12) with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Shaquille
Hines added 10 points and seven boards. The Broncs shot 33.3 percent
from the field, including 7-of-27 shooting from 3-point range.
The game was close in the
opening minutes of the game, with the score tied with 9:25 to play.
But the Aggies went on a 15-3 run, holding the Broncs scoreless for
nearly eight minutes, and forged a nine-point halftime lead.
Texas-Pan American battled back,
pulling within three with just over nine minutes to go, but then went
nearly eight minutes without a point as the Aggies pushed the lead to
17. The Broncs had two points in the final 9:27 of the contest.
