Duke 66, Creighton 50: Rasheed Sulaimon scored 21 points as the Blue Devils advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 27th time with a win in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional at Philadelphia.

Seth Curry added 17 points for the Blue Devils (29-5), who won the 2,000th game in program history. Second-seeded Duke will play No. 3 Michigan State on Friday in Indianapolis.

Doug McDermott led Creighton (28-8) with 21 points but the All-American did not hit a field goal in the second half. Gregory Echenique added nine points for the seventh-seeded Bluejays, who haven't beaten a top 10 team since 1974.

Duke took a 29-23 lead into the break after the Blue Devils' Tyler Thornton hit a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Blue Devils never trailed again, limiting the Bluejays - the best-shooting team in the nation - to 30.2 percent from the floor and 2-for-19 from 3-point range.

The Blue Devils were mired in foul trouble throughout the game but Creighton was unable to capitalize. Duke's Ryan Kelly picked up his fourth early in the second half and finished with just one point while Mason Plumlee had 10 points before fouling out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: McDermott had 13 points before the break and went 8-for-8 from the line in the second half. He finished 23-23 from the stripe in the tournament but was just 4-for-16 from the field against the Blue Devils. ... Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski reached the Sweet 16 for the 12th time. ...Creighton, which last went to the Sweet 16 in 1974, saw its six-game winning streak come to an end. The Bluejays led by four points in the first half.
