Junior guard Tony Snell scored 25 points as the visiting Lobos extended their winning streak to six games.

Forward Cameron Bairstow had 15 points and 10 rebounds and 7-0 sophomore center Alex Kirk added 11 points and 10 rebounds for New Mexico (26-4, 13-2), which had already clinched the regular season Mountain West title and No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament in Las Vegas.

Guard Malik Story had 25 points, including six 3-pointers, for Nevada (12-17, 3-12), which locked up a spot in the 8-9 play-in game Tuesday with its sixth straight loss.

The Wolf Pack played the Lobos on even terms for most of the first half and tied the game at 32 on a Marqueze Coleman free throw with 1:26 remaining. But Snell responded by sinking a pair of free throws and hitting a jumper to put New Mexico ahead 36-32 at halftime.

Nevada rallied to take the lead on three different occasions in the second half, including 56-55 on a Story free throw with 8:09 remaining. But New Mexico went on a 17-0 run over the next five minutes to pull away for its ninth win in the last 10 games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: PG Deonte Burton, who finished with eight points and eight assists, became the 12th player in Nevada history to score 1,400 points in his career. Burton (1,405) also passed Kirk Snyder (1,404 in 2001-04) for 11th place on the school career scoring list. ... New Mexico improved to 5-2 in Mountain West road games, the only team in the conference to post a winning record away from home in league play. The Lobos are 8-3 on the road overall this season. ... The Lobos have won 28 consecutive games when leading at halftime.
