: Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half and the visiting Wolverines recovered from their first loss of the season in impressive fashion.

Hardaway was 6-for-7 from the floor and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in the first half. His teammates poured it on after the break when the Wolverines (17-1, 4-1 Big Ten) turned a six-point lead into a 19-point advantage before holding on to defeat the Golden Gophers for the eighth time in nine meetings.

Austin Hollins led 12th-ranked Minnesota (15-3, 3-2) with a career-high 21 points. Trevor Mbakwe had 13 points, 10 rebounds and a career high-tying five blocked shots, but it wasn't enough to prevent Minnesota from losing its second straight since an 11-game winning streak.

After an Elliott Eliason basket pulled Minnesota within 30-28 late in the first half, the Gophers went cold while the explosive Wolverines went into another gear. Hardaway's dunk on a feed from Trey Burke made it 42-32 early in the second half.

Moments later, Nik Stauskas scored five points in 18 seconds and Glenn Robinson III had a steal and a 360-degree slam to make it 56-37 with 13:41 to go. Minnesota rallied but never got closer than seven points down the stretch.
