Stanford 75, California 70:
Chasson Randle scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half and Stanford held on to prevent California from claiming a share of the Pac-12 regular-season title.

The loss also kept California (23-8, 13-5 Pac-12) from the top seed in the Pac-12 tournament, which begins Wednesday in Los Angeles. Washington received the top seed despite losing to UCLA on Saturday.

After taking an early 4-3 lead against Stanford, California trailed for the rest of the game. The Bears cut the lead to two with 1:11 left, but Stanford hit three of its final six free throws to secure the win.

Stanford (20-10, 10-8 Pac-12) improved to 14-3 at home while forcing 15 California turnovers. Andrew Zimmermann scored 13 points and Aaron Bright added 12 for the Cardinal, who were coming off a 58-57 loss at Utah.

California, which lost back-to-back games for the first time this season, was paced by Allen Crabbe’s 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Harper Kamp had 19 points and David Kravish added 13.

Stanford, which finished the regular season with a winning conference record for the first time in Johnny Dawkins’ four years as head coach, opens the Pac-12 tournament as the No. 7 seed against No. 10 seed Arizona State.

As the No. 2 seed, California will face the winner of Stanford-Arizona State in Thursday's quarterfinals.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Stanford improved to 65-19 at home since the start of the 2007-08 season… California is 2-9 in its last 11 games at Maples Pavilion… Stanford moved to 13-0 when scoring more than 70 points… Stanford reserve center Stefan Nastic, who scored a career-high 11 points against California in January, went scoreless in three minutes… California was looking to equal the most conference wins in school history and match its best overall victory total since 1959-60.
