Jordan Taylor scored a game-high 22 points to lead No. 24 Wisconsin to a 68-60 victory over No. 13 Minnesota on Tuesday night in the Big Ten opener for both teams at Madison, Wis.

Taylor's 3-pointer with 5:28 left snapped a 56-56 tie and gave the Badgers the lead for good. Jon Leuer had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Wisconsin (11-2, 1-0), which scored 12 of the game’s final 16 points to extend its winning streak to six games.

Ralph Sampson III and Devoe Joseph scored 14 points apiece for Minnesota (11-2, 0-1), which had its five-game winning streak snapped.

After Taylor’s three-point play pushed Wisconsin's advantage to 62-58 with 1:10 to go, Sampson's basket brought Minnesota within 62-60 with 55 seconds left before the Badgers went 6 for 6 from the free throw line in the final 17 seconds.

Wisconsin led by as many as six points during a tight first half that ended with the Badgers ahead 33-29. Wisconsin started the second half with a 7-1 run to go ahead 40-30 on Taylor’s jumper two minutes into the half.

The Golden Gophers trailed 45-36 with 13 minutes left, and rallied to take a 54-53 lead on Trevor Mbakwe’s dunk with 6:59 to go. The Badgers snatched back the lead on Keaton Nankivil’s 3-pointer 38 seconds later, but Sampson’s basket with 6:01 left tied the game at 56-56.
