Fred VanVleet scored a season-best 33 points and added six assists and the visiting Toronto Raptors defeated the Washington Wizards 109-100 on Wednesday night.

OG Anunoby added 21 points and five rebounds for the Raptors, who have won five in a row and four straight on the road.

Svi Mykhailiuk and Gary Trent Jr. added 15 points each for the Raptors. Precious Achiuwa had six points and 10 rebounds.

Bradley Beal scored 25 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists for the Wizards, who have lost two in a row. Montrezl Harrell added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Washington. Raul Neto had 14 points, Spencer Dinwiddie scored 12 points and Deni Avdija had 11. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had eight points and nine rebounds.

Kyle Kuzma had two points on 1-of-10 shooting before leaving the game with a bruised forearm in the third quarter.

The Raptors, who led by 16 during the third quarter, were ahead by nine entering the fourth. The lead reached 12 points with 7:36 to play after Khem Birch scored four straight points for Toronto.

Anunoby hit a 3-pointer with 7:04 to play, increasing the lead to 15. The Wizards scored the next seven points. When Harrell made a layup with 3:53 remaining, the margin was six. After Beal missed a 3-point attempt, VanVleet came back with a layup. Dinwiddie missed a 3-pointer with 1:04 remaining before the Raptors put the game away.

After a 29-29 first quarter, the Raptors took an eight-point lead with 7:07 to play in the second on five straight points by Anunoby.

After the Wizards cut the lead to four, VanVleet answered with five consecutive points. The margin reached 14 on Mykhailiuk's 3-pointer with 3:05 remaining. After Washington scored six straight points, Trent ended the first half with a layup and a free throw and Toronto led 59-48.

The lead reached 16 with 9:56 to go in the third quarter when VanVleet made two free throws. The Wizards chipped away until they had trimmed the margin to five on Beal's 3-pointer with 3:27 left in the third. Toronto led 86-77 after three quarters.
