Karl-Anthony Towns scored 34 points and collected 21 rebounds in his return from a concussion to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 112-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night in Minneapolis.
Derrick Rose added 20 points for the Timberwolves, who won for the fourth time in the past five games. Tyus Jones contributed 16 points and eight assists as Minnesota overcame 22 turnovers.
Marvin Bagley III recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds for his third straight double-double as the Kings finished 1-3 on a four-game road trip.
De'Aaron Fox scored 23 points, Buddy Hield had 18 points and eight rebounds, and Corey Brewer added 12 points for Sacramento, which committed 20 turnovers.
Towns played in 303 consecutive games before missing the last two due to the concussion. The injury occurred last Thursday when Towns was a passenger in a car that stopped on the freeway due to an accident, only to be struck from behind by a truck.
Bagley, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 draft, excelled in his second career start and scored four straight points to pull the Kings within 95-87 with 9:22 remaining.
Towns made two free throws 15 seconds later to start an 11-4 burst. Jones scored seven points during the run, including a jumper to make it 106-91 with 7:03 left.
Sacramento responded with 10 straight points to trim its deficit to five, and later moved within 108-104 on Bagley's 3-pointer with 3:05 to play.
But the Kings scored just one point the rest of the way and Rose's 21-footer with 29.4 seconds left accounted for the final margin.
Minnesota shot 50.6 percent from the field, including 8 of 31 from 3-point range. Sacramento shot 38.9 percent and was 9 of 26 from behind the arc.
Towns scored 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting and collected 13 rebounds as the Timberwolves led 63-53 at the half.
