Raptors 96, Nets 80: DeMar DeRozan led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists as host Toronto snapped Brooklyn’s five-game winning streak.

Patrick Patterson added 14 points and 12 rebounds while Terrence Ross scored 14 for the Raptors, who moved back above .500 at 18-17. John Salmons scored 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting off the bench while Kyle Lowry contributed 12 points for Toronto.

Paul Pierce had 15 points and Alan Anderson scored 13 for the Nets, who squandered an opportunity to gain a game in the Atlantic Division. Joe Johnson added 11 points and six assists as Brooklyn stumbled on the second night of a back-to-back after a double-overtime victory over the Miami Heat on Friday.

The Nets trailed 47-42 at the half but rallied with an 18-3 run to start the third quarter as Anderson and Pierce each hit a pair of 3-pointers. Brooklyn ran out of gas in the back half of the third as the Raptors regained control with a 16-2 spurt and took a 68-64 lead into the fourth as DeRozan scored the final seven points.

The Nets missed their first eight field-goal attempts in the final stanza as Toronto pushed the lead out to 78-65 with 7:22 left. Brooklyn scored the next six points but Lowry stopped the bleeding with a 3-pointer and Patterson scored on two straight possessions as the Raptors put it away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nets F Kevin Garnett sat out the second night of the back-to-back and Mason Plumlee collected six points, five rebounds and four blocks while making his first career start in his place. … The Raptors have won 11 of their last 15 overall and improved to 8-8 at home. … Brooklyn G Deron Williams (ankles) missed his fourth straight game.
