Knicks 102, Heat 92: Carmelo Anthony had 29 points and eight rebounds to lead host New York to a surprising win over Miami.

Andrea Bargnani added 19 points for the Knicks, who shot 53.7 percent from the field to improve to 6-12 at Madison Square Garden. Raymond Felton erupted for 13 points and 14 assists while Amar'e Stoudemire added 14 points and 11 boards in a reserve role.

LeBron James led all scorers with 32 points for the Heat, who suffered their first loss against an Eastern Conference opponent in nearly a month. Dwyane Wade added 23 points while Norris Cole (12) was the only other Miami player in double figures.

James' 11 points fueled Miami's 27-21 first-quarter advantage, but the Knicks made quick work of the deficit with an 11-2 run to open the second. The teams exchanged leads until the final 2 1/2 minutes of the half, when James hit a driving layup and Rashard Lewis knocked down 3-pointers on consecutive possessions to send the Heat into the break with a 48-43 edge.

New York kept pace with Miami throughout the third quarter, finally pulling ahead on the second of back-to-back 3-pointers by Anthony and riding Bargnani's driving shot and ensuing free throw to a 75-71 lead heading into the final quarter. Anthony's transition layup gave New York a nine-point lead with 10:21 left, and Felton reeled off seven straight points to quell a Miami rally ignited by back-to-back baskets from James.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Knicks G Tim Hardaway Jr. had the play of the night, leaping over Miami's Ray Allen for a vicious one-handed putback slam off a miss by Stoudemire in the waning moments of the third quarter. ... Felton's assist total was his highest since April 2011. ... Miami had won five straight games against East foes dating back to a 90-84 loss in Indiana on Dec. 10.
