Thunder 117, Rockets 86: Kevin Durant went for 33 points and 13 rebounds as Oklahoma City easily dispatched of visiting Houston to improve to 2-0 since Russell Westbrook’s latest knee injury.

Reggie Jackson added 16 points and eight assists and Thabo Sefolosha scored 13 points for the Thunder, who have won three straight and 12 of 13. Jeremy Lamb contributed 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting off the bench as Oklahoma City shot 57.3 percent.

Aaron Brooks scored 17 points in a reserve role to lead the Rockets, who left the starters on the bench for most of the fourth quarter. Chandler Parsons led the starters with 15 points while Dwight Howard (nine points, nine rebounds) and James Harden (eight points) each failed to reach double figures as Houston shot 36.5 percent.

The Thunder scored the first 13 points of the game and never looked back. Sefolosha found Jackson for a 3-pointer and cut for a driving layup on the following possession to make it 22-5 before Oklahoma City settled for a 26-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Durant scored 12 points in the second quarter and it was 56-44 at the break before the Thunder began to spread things out again in the third. Durant and Jackson each knocked down a 3-pointer to highlight a 15-0 run that pushed it to 71-47 less than four minutes into the second half and the Thunder coasted through the rest of the contest.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Oklahoma City improved to 14-1 at home. … Houston has been held below 90 points only three times this season and marked its second-lowest total after a 114-81 loss at Indiana on Dec. 20. … The Thunder lead the NBA in rebounding and took the battle of the boards 49-38.
