Rockets 112, Spurs 106: James Harden scored 31 points and Chandler Parsons added 25 as visiting Houston defeated San Antonio for its fifth consecutive victory.

Dwight Howard had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Terrence Jones added 10 points and a career-high 16 boards as the Rockets handed the Spurs their first home loss of the season. Houston finished the game with a 9-0 run and went ahead to stay on Patrick Beverley’s basket with 31.4 seconds left.

Tony Parker had 27 points and eight assists for San Antonio, which lost for the second time in three games. Tim Duncan added 20 points and eight rebounds and Marco Belinelli scored 10 of his 18 points in the opening four minutes of the final quarter.

Belinelli hit two 3-pointers while scoring San Antonio’s first 10 fourth-quarter points to turn a 3-point deficit into a 90-85 advantage. The Spurs had a 106-103 lead after Parker’s basket with 1:22 left before Harden hit a tying 3-pointer with 56.7 seconds left to start the decisive surge.

The Rockets led 55-32 after Beverley’s 3-pointer with 4:18 left in the first half. San Antonio tallied the next 14 points and was down 11 at the break and trailed by just 83-80 entering the final quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Houston had 12 offensive rebounds and posted a 54-33 edge on the boards. … Parker played 38 minutes after missing Friday’s game against Orlando due to an ankle injury. … Parsons had four of the Rockets’ 13 3-pointers, while Belinelli had four of San Antonio’s nine.
