Rockets 108, Trail Blazers 91: James Harden had 35 points and 11 assists as Houston shots the lights out to overwhelm visiting Portland.

Chandler Parsons added 20 points and Patrick Patterson and Jeremy Lin scored 16 apiece as the Rockets shot 59.5 percent in winning for the fifth time in seven games.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 31 points 11 rebounds and Nicolas Batum broke out of a slump with 24 points but the Trail Blazers could not keep up with Houston's torrid pace and lost to the Rockets for the first time in three meetings this season.

Houston set the tone by shooting 76.5 percent in the opening quarter to grab a 34-28 lead before Harden took over, scoring 13 of his 20 first-half points in the second quarter to send the Rockets into the break with a 62-53 edge.

Batum and Aldridge combined for 25 of Portland's 27 points in the third quarter, but Patterson and Harden countered with 22 as Houston stretched the lead to 95-80 after three quarters and built it to 20 points early in the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harden made 13 of 16 shots and has scored 71 points in his last two games. ... Batum scored 21 points in the second half after averaging only eight points in his last six games while battling a painful right wrist injury. ... F Carlos Delfino (elbow) returned from a two-game absence for Houston but G Toney Douglas left the game with a hip pointer after playing less than two minutes.
