Heat 112, Magic 110 (OT): LeBron James collected 36 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds and Dwyane Wade scored the go-ahead basket in overtime as visiting Miami handed Orlando its sixth straight setback.
Chris Bosh scored the tying basket in regulation and finished with 22 points for the Heat, who avoided a third consecutive loss. Wade went 3-for-10 at the free throw line but split a pair in overtime to tie it at 106-106 before hitting the go-ahead basket.
Nikola Vucevic collected 20 points and a franchise-best 29 rebounds while Arron Afflalo scored 28 and J.J. Redick went for 23 off the bench for the Magic. Vucevic's total bested Shaquille O'Neal's 28-rebound effort versus New Jersey in 1993.
Orlando held a 77-72 lead entering the fourth before Miami opened the period with a 9-0 run to grab the advantage. Redick’s 3-pointer with 8:17 left gave the Magic the lead and they pushed it out to 89-84 on Afflalo’s jumper with 5:11 to play.
Orlando was up by four with 1:07 left but Bosh made back-to-back baskets to tie it and Afflalo missed a potential go-ahead jumper with 14 seconds left. Bosh missed at the other end, sending it to overtime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: James has scored 20 or more points in all 29 games to start the season, passing Kevin McHale for second place on that list. George Gervin went for 20 or more in 45 games to start the 1981-82 campaign. … Orlando outrebounded the Heat 50-33 but committed 17 turnovers that led to 28 points. … Magic F Hedo Turkoglu handed out eight assists in his second game of the season after missing the first two months with a broken hand.
