: Roy Hibbert collected 19 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and five blocks and host Indiana played strong defense on LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Danny Granger had his best game of the series with 17 points and seven rebounds and George Hill scored 20 points for the Pacers, who have held Miami under 40 percent from the field in the last two games.

The Heat shuffled their lineup to try to get more out of the supporting cast. It ended up working in the case of Mario Chalmers, who scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, but Wade never got going and James fell off after the break.

Wade finished 2 for 13 from the field for five points while committing five turnovers. James totaled 22 points on 10-of-22 shooting but was held to six points in the second half.

With Chris Bosh still out, Indiana went to Hibbert and David West on the inside early and often and ended up dominating the glass, 50-35.

The Pacers took over in the third quarter, outscoring the Heat 26-12 in the period. Granger came alive during a 19-3 burst, hitting a pair of 3-pointers and totaling eight points in the spurt as Indiana took a 64-50 lead.

The lead grew to as much as 18 points, 75-57, on Granger’s jumper early in the fourth before the Heat began to make a push. Chalmers scored seven straight points and assisted on Wade’s layup to cut it to 78-67 with 6:24 left.

But Chalmers fouled Hill on a 3-point attempt with 6:11 on the clock and the Pacers used the momentum shift to run away with the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Heat shot 4 for 20 from 3-point range and are 5 for 42 from beyond the arc in the series. … Miami F Shane Battier was moved into the starting lineup and was held scoreless on 0-of-7 shooting in 23 minutes. … Game 4 is in Indianapolis on Sunday.
