MAVERICKS 106, SPURS 99: Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points to lead host Dallas past San Antonio.

Jason Terry scored 17 points, Roddy Beaubois tallied 16 points and Jason Kidd had 14 points and 10 assists as the Mavericks won their third straight contest.

Tim Duncan and Danny Green scored 17 points apiece and Tiago Splitter had 15 for the Spurs, who had a three-game winning snapped. Tony Parker added 13 points and 11 assists.

Kidd made four of Dallas’ 11 3-point baskets while recording his first double-double of the season.

The Mavericks led by 14 after a basket by Beaubois with 5:20 to play, but San Antonio cut the margin to 100-94 on Green’s hoop with 1:51 remaining. Vince Carter and Terry hit 3-pointers to help Dallas seal it.

Kidd hit two 3-pointers and Terry added one during a 17-7 surge that saw the Mavericks extend a three-point lead to 74-61 with two minutes left in the third quarter.

Nowitzki had 19 first-half points to help Dallas to a 46-44 halftime lead.

Brian Cardinal’s 3-pointer allowed Dallas to end the first quarter with a 28-19 lead, but San Antonio began the second quarter on an 11-4 run to pull within two points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Mavericks were 21 of 25 from the free-throw line. … Manu Ginobili (hip) scored nine points in 24 minutes after missing Friday’s game against Oklahoma City. … Kidd’s double-digit assist outing is his fourth of the season … Stephen Jackson played 16-plus minutes and had five points in his first game with the Spurs after being acquired at the trade deadline.
