Wade made 17-of-24 shots and all 10 of his free throws as Miami (25-9) won its fourth straight game and ended Houston’s season-best five-game winning streak.

Wade had 40 points in Tuesday’s victory over New York.

Luis Scola scored 22 points to lead Houston (15-16), which ended Miami’s streak of holding 16 straight opponents under 100 points by scoring the most points against the Heat this season.

The Heat shot 58 percent from the field and sank 34-of-37 free throws but still needed to hold off a late charge by the Rockets to win for the 16th time in 17 games.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Chase Budinger and Kyle Lowry were followed by Kevin Martin’s basket with 57.2 seconds left that cut the deficit to 117-114.

Joel Anthony made four straight free throws in an eight-second span to get the Heat’s lead back to seven.

Chris Bosh scored 21 points and LeBron James had 20 and nine assists for Miami.

Martin scored 21 points and Aaron Brooks had 20 and nine assists for Houston.
