Andray Blatche hit two free throws with 7.1 seconds left in overtime and rookie John Wall had 29 points, 13 assists and nine steals to lead the host Washington Wizards to their first victory of the season, a 116-115 win over the winless Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.

Andre Iguodala badly missed a shot with two seconds left that would have won it for the 76ers (0-4).

Wall narrowly missed a triple-double but tied the franchise record for steals in a game shared by Gus Williams (1984) and Michael Adams (1991) as Washington improved to 1-2.

The 76ers were in position to win in regulation, but Washington’s Cartier Martin forced overtime with an off-balance 3-pointer with four-tenths of a second remaining.

Lou Williams scored 20 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter for Philadelphia. Elton Brand added 21 points on 9-for-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds.

Blatche scored 23 points and Nick Young added 20 points for the Wizards. Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday had 14 points and 13 assists.

Washington guard Gilbert Arenas missed the game due to an ankle injury and hopes to make his season debut Friday against the New York Knicks.
