Toney Douglas came off the bench to score 22 points and the New York Knicks held off a late charge from the visiting Charlotte Bobcats to notch a 110-107 victory on Tuesday.

Douglas made five 3-pointers and the Knicks (7-8) were 24-of-25 from the free-throw line as they won their fourth consecutive game, matching their longest winning streak since Mike D'Antoni became coach in 2008.

The Bobcats (5-9) had a chance to force overtime, but Stephen Jackson’s 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark. The teams meet again Wednesday night in Charlotte.

Charlotte trailed by eight points with under three minutes left before rallying. Gerald Wallace’s rebound basket with 3.6 seconds left pulled Charlotte within one point. Former Bobcat Raymond Felton hit two clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds to play before Jackson’s miss.

Amar’e Stoudemire scored 17 points and Felton had 16 and nine assists for New York. Danilo Gallinari was 8-of-8 from the line while scoring 15 points.

D.J. Augustin led Charlotte with 24 points, seven assists and four steals. Wallace scored 20 points and Jackson tallied 18.

Jackson sparked the Bobcats’ late surge with five straight points that pulled Charlotte within 104-101 with two minutes left.
