Ray Allen scored 17 points and the Boston Celtics allowed the fewest points in franchise history by recording an 87-56 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Boston (47-17) held Milwaukee to 31.4 percent shooting from the field while surpassing its previous low of 57 points allowed during the 1954-55 season. Milwaukee’s 56 points are the lowest in franchise history and the fewest in the NBA this season.

Earl Barron, who had 10 points, was the only player to score in double figures for the Bucks (26-39).

Paul Pierce had 14 points and Nenad Krstic had 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Celtics.

Milwaukee’s highest-scoring quarter was 18, which was set in the fourth.

Boston led 39-22 at halftime and led comfortably the entire second half.

Milwaukee’s 22 first-half points matched the worst first-half output in franchise history. The Bucks also scored 22 points against the Seattle SuperSonics on Feb. 21, 2003.

Milwaukee made just 8 of 35 first-half shots, a putrid 22.9 percent. The Bucks scored nine points in the first quarter, 13 in the second and 16 points in the third.
