Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager each hit solo homers to power the Texas Rangers to a 7-2 win over the host Washington Nationals to open a three-game series on Friday.

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, while Seager went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. Josh Jung went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Texas, which ended a two-game slide.

Joey Meneses carried Washington offensively, going 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, two RBIs and two runs.

Texas took a 2-0 lead it wouldn't relinquish in the top of the first.

After Marcus Semien walked and advanced to third on Seager's double to center, he crossed the plate on Garcia's one-out RBI groundout to second. Jung walked and Jonah Heim's single to right scored Seager.

The Nationals, who have dropped five straight, cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning when Meneses blasted a solo homer to left.

The Rangers extended their lead with a pair of runs in the fifth. After Nathaniel Lowe's two-out single to center, Garcia doubled to left before Jung delivered a two-run single to center.

Left-hander Cody Bradford (1-1) picked up the win by allowing a run on five hits with a strikeout and a walk in five innings before being relieved by Glenn Otto in the sixth.

Meneses pulled Washington to within 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth with his second solo homer of the game.

After the Nationals pulled starter Trevor Williams (5-5) after six innings, the Rangers put the game away against reliever Joan Adon.

Seager greeted the right-hander with a 423-foot homer to right-center field before Garcia launched a 395-foot solo shot to left one batter later.

Williams allowed four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and three walks in six innings.

The Rangers capped the scoring in the eighth on Ezequiel Duran's sacrifice fly that scored Travis Jankowski.
