Ryan McKenna drew a walk-off walk in the ninth inning as the host Baltimore Orioles rallied to defeat the Miami Marlins 8-7 on Wednesday night.
In the ninth against Marlins reliever Steven Okert (0-1), Cedric Mullins walked, went to second on a wild pitch and advanced on Austin Hays' sacrifice bunt. After Trey Mancini and Ryan Mountcastle were intentionally walked to load the bases, McKenna drew a seven-pitch free pass for Baltimore's second walk-off win in the past three games.
The Marlins, who blew an early 5-0 lead and a 7-5 advantage in the eighth, had their three-game win streak snapped.
Miami's Jesus Aguilar, who leads the National League with 75 RBIs, drove in three runs with a homer and a double off the wall. Both of his shots were to center field.
Baltimore slugged two homers -- a three-run shot by Pedro Severino and Mancini's solo blast. Mancini leads the Orioles with 19 home runs.
Marlins rookie starter Jordan Holloway couldn't hold that 5-0 lead and left with a no-decision after 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs, four earned.
Orioles starter Jorge Lopez, who leads the majors with 12 losses, escaped another defeat despite allowing five runs in two innings.
Miami opened the scoring with two runs in the first. Miguel Rojas singled off the glove of shortstop Ramon Urias. Rojas scored when Aguilar's blast to center was deflected at the wall by Mullins. Brian Anderson then drove in Aguilar with a single.
The Marlins extended their lead to 5-0 in the second. Rojas grounded a double down the third-base line, and Isan Diaz stroked an RBI single just inches past the glove of second baseman Domingo Leyba. Aguilar then followed with his homer.
Holloway lost his control in the bottom of the second, walking leadoff batter DJ Stewart on four pitches and giving Urias a free pass on five tosses. The third batter in the inning, Severino, hit a monster homer measured at 422 feet.
The Orioles chased Holloway in the third as Mancini homered and Stewart walked with one out. After a passed ball charged to Jorge Alfaro, reliever David Hess allowed Urias' RBI double, tying the score 5-5.
Miami took a 7-5 lead in the fourth, loading the bases with no outs on walks to Diaz and Aguilar and Adam Duvall's single. Anderson was hit by a pitch to give Miami the lead, and Lewin Diaz added an RBI groundout.
Baltimore tied the score with two runs -- one unearned -- in the eighth. McKenna walked, and Urias doubled to set up the rally. A fielding error by Anderson at third made it 7-6, and Maikel Franco's RBI single tied the score.
