Mitch Moreland crushed a two-run home run among four hits as the Boston Red Sox overcame an early deficit to rout the Texas Rangers 10-3 Wednesday night at Arlington, Texas.

Christian Vazquez also hit a two-run homer, and Rafael Devers added a solo shot as the Red Sox (83-75) reached a new franchise record with 241 homers on the season. Boston will seek a sweep in the three-game series Thursday after scoring 22 runs through the first two contests.

Moreland's four-hit game tied his career high, set in August 2015 while he was a member of the Rangers.

Rougned Odor drove in two runs for Texas (75-83), which lost for the ninth time in its last 10 games.

Making perhaps his last start as a member of the Red Sox as an impending free agent, Rick Porcello didn't look like he would get through the first inning. He put the first four Rangers on, Odor's bases-loaded double driving in a pair, and allowed three runs total as Texas jumped out to an early lead.

Boston knotted the score in the second on a Jackie Bradley Jr. RBI groundout and Chris Owings' two-run single. Vazquez's two-run blast in the third put the Red Sox up 5-3.

Porcello, meanwhile, settled in, retiring the final 11 men he faced from the third inning through the sixth. Porcello (14-12) gave up the three runs on six hits and struck out eight.

Moreland's two-run shot increased Boston's lead to 7-3 in the top of the sixth, and Devers followed with his homer in the seventh -- his season total of 32 tying Tony Conigliaro in 1965 for the most in team history by a player younger than 23.

Devers added his 52nd double in a two-run ninth for Boston, a new single-season record for a Red Sox third baseman.

Kolby Allard (4-2) took the loss for the Rangers, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk with one strikeout over three innings.
