Marcus Semien and Matt Chapman homered, and Sean Manaea pitched six shutout innings to lead the Oakland A's to their sixth straight victory, 6-1, over the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Semien's homer was his 30th of the season, joining Matt Olson (34) and Chapman (34) in the 30-home run club and tying the team record for players with 30 homers in a season last accomplished in 2001. Seth Brown added two doubles and two RBIs.

Chapman's solo shot in the ninth was the 244th home run of the season for the A's (90-60), breaking the franchise record also set in 1996.

Manaea (2-0), making his third start of the season following shoulder surgery last September, gave up just three singles and a walk while striking out six over six innings. The 27-year-old left-hander has allowed one run and six hits in 18 innings (0.50 ERA) since being recalled on Sept. 1 while striking out 21.

Jesus Luzardo gave up one run and two hits over the final three innings to pick up his first major league save.

Shin-Soo Choo went 3-for-3 and also was hit by a pitch, and Jose Trevino doubled and scored a run for Texas (74-77), which suffered its third straight loss. Jonathan Hernandez (1-1), making his second career start, suffered the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks over 2 2/3 innings.

Oakland took a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Semien's two-run homer, a 433-foot drive to center, drove in Robbie Grossman, who had walked. After Matt Olson and Mark Canha walked, Brown hit a two-run double into the gap in right-center.

The A's increased their lead to 5-0 in sixth on an RBI single by Sean Murphy.

Texas cut it to 5-1 in the eighth when Trevino doubled and later scored on a passed ball by Murphy. The Rangers later loaded the bases with no outs, but Luzardo got out of the jam with back-to-back strikeouts of Nick Solak and Rougned Odor and a groundout by Scott Heineman.

Chapman capped the scoring in the ninth with his 34th homer of the season, a 415-foot drive to center.
