Cesar Hernandez, Adam Haseley, Jean Segura and J.T. Realmuto homered to lead the host Philadelphia Phillies past the Atlanta Braves 9-5 on Thursday.

Hernandez, Segura and Maikel Franco had two hits apiece for the Phillies (76-70), who remain within two games of the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers for the second wild-card berth in the National League.

Phillies starter Drew Smyly gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) in four innings. He struck out six and walked one.

Jared Hughes (5-5) earned the win in relief while Hector Neris picked up his 26th save.

Ozzie Albies, Adam Duvall and Ronald Acuna Jr. homered for the Braves, who dropped to 91-57.

Josh Donaldson and Albies had two hits each while Acuna stole two bases, improving his total to 36.

Braves starter Julio Teheran struggled through four innings, allowing five hits and five runs. Teheran (10-9) walked three, struck out one and gave up three homers.

Albies gave the Braves a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run homer, which scored Acuna.

In the bottom of the first, Hernandez hit a solo shot to close within 2-1.

The Phillies went ahead 3-2 when Haseley ripped a two-run homer in the second.

In the third, Segura lunged at a low fastball and still managed to hit it into the seats in left for a two-run home run and 5-2 advantage.

The home run derby continued in the fourth when Duvall slammed a two-run shot to get the Braves within 5-4.

Hernandez singled to right, and Franco eluded catcher Brian McCann to slide in safely for a 6-4 Phillies advantage in the sixth.

Acuna crushed his 39th home run of the season, a solo shot to center, with two outs in the seventh off Blake Parker to close within 6-5.

The Braves' Dansby Swanson lined out to left with runners at second and third and two outs to end the eighth.

In the bottom of the eighth, Sean Rodriguez doubled home Haseley, and Realmuto later hit a two-run homer to right for a 9-5 lead. It was Realmuto's career-best 25th home run.
